Continuano i disagi alle Wta Finals di Cancún. Il match tra Aryna Sabalenka ed Elena Rybakina è stato interrotto e rimando al giorno successivo per via delle condizioni proibitive in campo, che rendevano praticamente impossibile proseguire l'incontro.
6-2, 3-5 il punteggio con la kazaka che potrà subito sfruttare l'occasione di servire per allungare la partita al terzo. Tra il forte vento e la pioggia, le due tenniste si sono ritrovate in fortissima difficoltà: nel primo parziale la 24enne non riusciva a battere e, imbarazzata dalla situazione, ha provato ad avere sostegno dal pubblico.
Il confronto è stato fermato in 5 diversi momenti, prima di un definitivo spostamento al programma di venerdì insieme alle altre due gare, augurandosi un clima atmosferito migliore attorno alla città di Cancún.
